Im wondering How many of us here who own one, realy use it or dont use it cause its no longer made.I stop useing mine for that reason and then thought to myself,Looking at it,it looked at me and said, would you actually sell me after I have saved your ass how many times, take me outside and hit me against a few branches cut some rope split some wood make a shelter clean some fish, and I will show ya a knife that will still shave. And that is why I use my BATTLE MISTRESS.

I've got many SHBM's that are purely collection pieces because of my passion for them. However I was also lucky enough to pickup a used one for dirt cheap that I keep as a possible user. She has got some serious personality scars on the coating, and a tiny ding in the blade towards the tip. When i need a knife that large my BM-E usually gets called up for duty, but I wanted to have a SHBM that could also be used without hesitation should she be better suited for the situation at hand.

Have a Basic 9, but I'm getting away from it as time goes on, the BM series bring that extra heft which is hard to deal without after getting used to it.

I beat the absolute crap out of both of mine every weekend. I have a Buddy who loves the Straight Handle BM's but he can't really afford one. Especially since they go for around 650.00 these days. So when ever we go camping or four wheeling and stuff I let him rig one up. We give them hell. Use it abuse it. That's what she's for. Jerry can always recoat it, bead blast it, satin finish it, and repair any edge bangs you give her. IT has a lifetime warranty so if ya break it Jerry will take care of ya.

My SH Battle Mistress is a user. It was used when I got it, which I am kinda glad for. I think I would have had a hard time putting those first marks in it.
