The lightweight Delica is bar none my favorite folder. I've been giving thought to collecting as many of the variations as I can, but I don't know for sure how many different styles there has been. I'm aware of the new-style vs. old style with regards to the clip and grip pattern, but I need to know what color variations there's been, coated blades, etc...???

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi JMB. The Delica was intoduced in 1990. Originally, we made them in black, blue and olive green. We also made some pink ones on two different occassions.

There were 4 changes to the mold on the original version and there has been a change to the mold once on the newer ('98) version.

The Delica 2 is a stainless scale version with AUS-6 blade (price point model).

We made some with black blades for a while.

I have a proto in Titan which is a very nice carry, but we never did the model in production.

I have thought about a "sprint" run in a different handle material. Any suggestions?

A titan Delica is definately something I would be interested in, or failing that how about an Almite version ?

I have to agree with JMB about the Delica being one of my favorite knives. It gets carried on a daily basis more than any other Spydie.

I think that a titainium Delica would be great, followed by an almite or carbon fiber one.

Mr. Glesser, thank you for the information.

As for a sprint run, I think a gunmetal blue almite would be a good seller. Maybe even make the handles slotted as seen on the current Navigators.

I know you have a run of FRN Delicas in blue due out soon. In addition to that, I think pink and olive drab green plain edge Delicas would sell like hotcakes.

Surely G10 will fill the bill! Since many G10 models in the Spydie lineup are discontinued and existing supplies are running out. The Wegner Jr., the Standard, etc. are all but gone soon. What better model to have a G10 variation than the Delica?! With a single steel liner to give it extra strength and more heft. My vote is in.
