At this time, 6 Leathermans and 3 Vics.
At first I had only a few knives and never more than one at a time. All were SAK multitool types or knockoffs. I couldn't imagine why anyone would carry a blade only when sometimes a screwdriver, can opener or some other tool might be needed. Other than that, I had no interest in the subject, certainly no collector, except I always felt "incomplete" without a knife in my pocket.
Around ten years ago I became aware of Leatherman products and was intrigued at the prospect of having full size pliers and a load of other tools in such a small package. I was hooked by a PST, which I liked well enough, but then along came Supertool and I was reeled in. The only obstacle to ecstasy was no scissors until the Micra was introduced, which turned out to be the perfect complement.
Such was my EDC for the next few years, and would have so remained had not Target and Sharper Image blown out some of their Leathermen in several January clearance sales, too good to pass up, which I learned of thanks to this forum.
Some I gave as gifts or sold off, some stuck around. That's how I wound up with a Juice CS4, Squirt P4 and Charge Ti to join the previously mentioned. I use them all, but just between us, doubt that I really need them all.
Oh, what a slippery slope. Until 10 years ago I had never heard the term "knife knut," and now I are one.
