Cant seem to find em for anything less than 80$, doing some research I see a lot of people saying they get them for 60-70$ new. Cheapest I can find new is a orange handled one for 73$.

They go for about half what you'll spend on new scales to make it a knife worth carrying.
Kind of like buying a $200 10-22 and dumping another $800 into just so it shoots as good as your buddies $300 CZ.

Welcome aboard.
You should read the stickies concerning values of a knife

Check with the forums vendors and shop around. They run about the same now with the MAP pricing. Ebay may have a cheaper one, but be sure you trust the vendor on there.

And welcome to the forums.....

:D

There is a website that sells them on sale for $60-70 on sale. Grips with any color on them(other than 154cm/black) is more.

I disagree here. Does upgrading the scales make a difference? I would guess so, but I never felt a need to do so.
There is a reason the Grip is one of the top selling knives year after year. Not everyone is upgrading the scales. Yes the stock scales definitely are "plasticky", but to me it is only the full size grip that feels that way. The ergos and blade still make it worth carrying though.
My Ritter Mini-grip still has the original orange handle. I carry that little bugger all the time. It feels great, even in my L/XL hands.
YMMV, but I usually prefer it to my PM2, and it completely kicked the DragonflyII out of my pocket.

Thank goodness for options!
Either way a suggestion to the OP, look in the exchange. They come up for around $50-$60 often.
