this is probably a VERY stupid question, but what is the general price range of hinderer knives? specifically the XM-18 and the XM-24 models.

there is a large range from somewhere around 350 to 1000+ depending on selling source and model. I am no authority, but that is the short answer

does anyone have them in stock for immediete purchase?

Yes. Go on the Hinderer website and select Dealers, there are links to each site. Can't remember which one but there are several "In Stock" Obviously B.I.N. site has them as well. There was a Forum Member with one for sale in the
Seller sub-forum.
Hope that helps.

Street prices vary of course, and that discussion is for another forum.

Our retail prices for XM folders are as follows:

XM-18 3" Production Model $385.00
XM-18 3.5" Production Model $385.00
XM-24 Production $550.00

Show prices for hand-ground customs vary depending on how they are configured, 3" and 3.5" XM-18's start at $550 with a G10 scale, the XM-24 with G10 is $700.

Rob-
Be a nice addition to the sticky up above. Gets asked fairly often and I know the members avoid the subject in case its an entre' for a "bigger" point, easier to just direct the individual to the sticky. Cuz, if they are asking.... who knows:confused:
Your call Boss:)

I am to understand that they aren't sold direct from Rick (unless Military, LEO or EMT), correct? Yet the cheapest prices from the dealer list on Rick's site are $550 for an XM-18 and $925 for an XM-24.

The average price for an XM-18 came to $833 and $1075 for the XM-24. Is Rick seriously okay with this kind of gouging? Am I missing something?

Disclaimer: ***I am not in any way knocking the blades themselves*** ***Yes, I know the secondary market is a different animal and fluctuates***

The free market leveling realities of supply and demand have nothing to do with the originator. The builder has a right to limit his production efforts to whatever level is comfortable. Just because the quality of the widget dictates the demand and by default the price. Is what it is. Not Ricks to worry about either way.

We have nothing to do with dealer/ secondary market pricing, it is that simple. In our forum I would also like to respect our fellow forum members, friends and customers that purchase from the secondary market.

Lots of factors are going to play into dealer pricing..... 95% of the knives you see on dealer sites since September (heck back to Blade actually) are knives bought at shows through lotteries, since we've shipped very little to the dealers due to the show workload. There is no discount on the pricing at the shows for dealers, so that is one factor.......And I don't have the time to explain the other 20 factors that can come into play, that's why in the first sentence of my post, I mention that this is not the place do discuss secondary market pricing. It has been debated to ad nauseum, so please find other topics to discuss and enjoy here other than secondary market and dealer prices.
