How much are these Randall knives worth?

Hello, everybody,

I stopped collecting knives some time ago. However, as you know, it takes a while for Randall to complete the order. I got letters stating the following knives are going to be made soon:

1. Model 19-5” Bushmaster, stainless steel, stag handle – natural, Brass Butt cap, wrist thong.
2. Model 12-13” Raymond Thorp , stag handle – natural, brass butt cap, wrist thong.
3. Model 24-4” Guardian, black Micarta, all red spacers.
4. Model Fireman Special – 4 ¼” Blade, border patrol handle.

Could you tell me how much are these knives worth now and how can I sell them? I live in the UK and really don't want to import these knives, do you know if Randall can send the items to the buyer in the USA or somewhere else in the world directly if I pay for the order? Or can I somehow sell the order to another buyer?

Thanks,

they usually carry a premium for being new and not having to wait out the lead time. But it all depends on what the secondary market will bear and the knife. You could check ebay to see what folks are paying for them, i got a decent idea looking around that way.

have you concidered using the forums exchange to move these? you'd have to upgrade your membership to do so, and probably find a proxy to ship from stateside.

The rule use to be around 25-30% above catalog prices for available new knives.

It is illegal to sell knives from UK's ebay. Is there some other auction where I could sell them from? I don't want to hang around with these knives.
By the way, will these Randalls classify as semi-custom knives? They have been customised, but in general the blade size, shape etc is standard catalogue one.
Thanks.

I can think of two options off the top of my head:

1) Upgrade to a gold membership and sell them here; or

2) Join the Randall Knife Society and sell them on their forum (www.knifetalkforums.com).

RMK specifically states that orders are not transferable, so I'm not sure how willing they would be to help you work around this. It probably doesn't hurt to ask, though.

Good luck.

You'd be better selling them in the UK as the shipping to US is very high. I'd try the British Blade Forum.
