I just got in my queen classic canoe and the small blade has a good amount of blade play while the large blade has a small amount.:grumpy: I wasn't expecting this at all because my case stockman locks up completely solid. Is this something to come to expect? Or should I send it back to queen for a tuneup? :grumpy:

If it's unacceptable to you, you should contact the vendor and have him swap it out for you with another. Of course you can send it to Queen for a repair as well but why bother when any reputable dealer should take care of it for you. (And you might ask him to inspect the next one before shipping.)

I'd say its 100% your call... Edit; Blues beat me to it, he's right;
If its more than YOU like, send it back.

IMO the rep those queen classics have, any more play than a regular line case is probably too more than it should be..

Emailing collectorknives.net about it. Hopefully they can swap it out without problem. Thanks for the help guys. Yeah, the bladeplay is unacceptable.

Mike will surely take care of you. 'Nuff said.

Send her back asap.

Single backspring canoes will always have a smidge of movement in them; it is inherent in the patten. I have not seen any with slop, only that if forced you can feel the slack that was left in at the factory for smooth operation. Most don't realize the complications in setting one with good snap and zero blade movement. Many people will never notice it unless they go looking for it. Yours may be different than the rest of the stock I just went through.

But I can take yours and take out all slack as long as you don't mind pulling it open and pushing it closed. A couple good raps without a spacer in place will take out any movement; but increase the friction past the point of getting good free falling snap.

Never keep a knife you are not completely happy with. Regardless of where you got it.

We'll let you guys take it from here.
