I'm fairly new to knifemaking, I was soldering my first gaurd on a bowie without doing enough research. I left alot of flux on the blade for about 2 days. After reading a few articles I read that its important to clean or nutrilize the flux emediatly. What are the long term consiquences for being a bone head. And can I fix it?

I think the effect will be short term rather than long term. If the steel is not etched already I don't think you will have a long term problem. I neutralize my soldering acid with windex, others use baking soda.
I would recomend you neutralize as soon as possible if you have not already done so. Then examine the steel under a good light for etching where the flux was left on. If there is no etching then I don't think there will be any in the future.

I think the only problem you might have is if flux is traped between the guard and the blade. I always try to get a complete seal of solder all around the guard and the blade. I think if you completely neutralize the flux it won't cause a future problem.
