This is perhaps something silly - but something I have to get off my chest. For those that have not yet added a Gunting to their collection - BEWARE! They cost faaar more than the advertised price. There are significant hidden costs involved.
I will explain: Firstly, I'd watch Bram do some of his magic on the DVDs. Then I'd have to practice it straight away. My wife is the closest, so I grab her. Before she knows it, I have tomahawked her arm and tried some new grip. Perhaps I'm not gentle enough, so she gets upset and I have to 'bribe' her to talk to me again. Until next time.... Costs thus far: About $200. Next stop divorce, so I'm not allowed to practice any more...
I got myself a new fairly pricey ski jacket. I was wearing my Gunting (live) in my sheath on my belt. Thought to myself - this is a new jacket. I have never tried to draw the Gunting with this on - how fast could I get it out? I whipped it out pretty smoothly, but then thought to complete the move and open the knife kineticaly on my arm (still wearing the jacket). It got hooked, the point dug in and I cut the bottom half of my sleave OFF! Thank you Spyderco. This was the first time I had worn the jacket as well! ! ! !
So, think carefully before you Gunting. No wives or ski jackets even close to the tool please. This will save you hundreds of $$$$.
