Alot of posts about key chains got me looking at mine and noticed the I've got a little money invested in this thing:

Anything more, and I can't get a good grip when using it as a koppo stick/kubotan for self defense. Not to mention, it feels too heavy/bulky with anything else.

I don't really know what they're worth but my "keychain" is a climbing grade carabiner, contains keys and a Micra.

I'm a resident assistant at my college. If I lose my keyring, I lose my job, college tuition, mealticket, and access to my houses at home... not to mention having to replace the keys I lost.

I think I win. :D
 
I was a Senior Maintenance Mechanic for a industrial laser communications manufacturer back in the early 80's. The company used to make the lasers that are the standard in the communications industry now. These lasers cost upwards of $1000+ back then, I found one in a scrap bin,(apparently QC scrapped it for cosmetics reason) (these things were gold plated) and I soldered a key ring onto it.

A few weeks later I was working in the Vice Presidents office running network lines, and he saw it on my work keys, he asked me,"Do you know how much that laser cost?", at that time I had no idea they cost that much.

He asked me where I got it from,(I thought for sure I was out of a job) I told him it came from the srcap bin, and he asked to look at it.

To make a long story short, he really liked the way it came out and he asked me to make him 1/2 a dozen or so for X-Mas gifts for some of the Executive Staff.

So how much was my keyring worth? At one time was worth $1,008.63,(I also had a Schrade LB1 on it).:eek: :D :cool:
