How much should I pay for a Spyderco Military?

I am hankering to buy a Military, would like black handle with D2 steel. I handled one at my favorite knife store, but it is selling for 215? I see them sometimes used in s30v for a little over 100. I think I still want D2 for blade steel. Can some of you spydermen clue me in? It will be my first spyderco, other than my stones of course.

The CPM-D2 model has green handels, if the one you seen had black I would be asking questions. I liked my S90V millie so much I picked a LH millie the other day from knifeworks, about $145 shipped. Truly one of the best folders IMHO. If you want the D2 expect to pay more, it was a limited run.

The D2 didn't come with black, but Folage Green scales. It was a sprint run and the $215 you mentioned is a decent price if it was D2. There very hard to find.

I like the reg s30v fine. Got mine for a little over $100 early this year. You can get them for around $125, or less if you look around and want to look for a bargin.

I am not sure if what the blade steel was at the knife store. I do recall the cost though $215. I will find out tomorrow. I will have to find out what the blade steel is now. I am glad to learn the CPM D2 was green handle only.

D2? Get it! I want one in D2 as well! I found the BG42 and the Sv90. BG42 on the way, and the sv90, well, when wifey calms down that one will be on its way too. :)

If the wife doesn't calm down, steer me towards that Military s90v! I need it for my CF Military set. ;)

OK, found a Paramilitary in D2. Got it for 149 shipped on ebay. I just did a buy it now. I will keep an eye out for my real goal of a military, but happy I gothis one. I love working with D2, and not bad for my first spyderco!

Congrats. Chances are good that you'll love the knife... and if you don't, I don't think you'll have a problem getting rid of it ;).

I paid $145 shipped for my new S30V Paramilitary. The Military usually runs about the same price, maybe a few dollars more. So if you still want one, you shouldn't have a problem finding a used one for $100, or less if you get lucky.

D2 Para is a great knife, you will love it.

Thanks for that. I am looking forward to it. I think it may replace my griptilian for awhile. I have found a great edge holding quality in D2. I have a small Queen Canoe in D2 and it stays razor sharp, even after cutting lots of cardboard. I will now have to save up to get a military in D2. I will have to remain vigil. Now, is the waiting for the knife to ship........

The D2 Spydies are worth every penny. They come 'scary' sharp and the steel is a dream to use and sharpen. I dare say that the BM may not see the light of day for some time. :)

Don't get D2 and CPM-D2 confused though, they are two different animals. CPM-D2 polishes like you wish D2 would.

If you like the Queen D2, you will really like the Spyderco CPM D2. I find it to hold an edge much longer than the Queen D2, and it is easy to sharpen.
