How much time between Sebenza cleaning?

Hello,

Since im a new Sebbie owner, I would like to ask you each how much time you do a 'cleaning maintenace' to your sebbie, that include disassemble, cleaning, oiling, etc...

About once every few weeks. Mostly whenever I feel the action starting to get gritty from pocket gunk or from the lube getting washed out.

I just spray mine with brake parts cleaner, about every two weeks, and reoil with Breekfree. They open just like new.

I've had my small classic sebenza for about two years now. Took it apart once to clean and lube. Now I just spray it with brake cleaner and relube with Mil Tech. Like new.

I don't take mine apart very often at all, even though it's fun to do. I have in the past used White Lightning lube and that was designed originally for bicycle bearings. It's wax based and somehow pushes dirt and lint out of the pivot totally on it's own when the knife is opened and closed. I love it!

I blow out any lint on a weekly basis and will lube the detent perhaps once every six weeks. I probably only disassemble the knife two or three times a year.

I keep mine ina Gfeller sheath so I dont get any real dust/lint in it. It stays pretty clean so I clean it only every few months...

I've never disassembled one. Brake cleaner or acetone and then lube it up.
