It's amazing when I think about my dependency on the computer and Internet. After spending a day at work on a PC with internet acces, (no I dont surf ALL day :D ), I come home and go right online. We dont fight over the PC anymore in my house cause I've got a home network with 4 PC's

In addition to bladeforums, and ar15.com, and a bunch of other websites, I'm reading tons of emails and jokes, reading news, weather, researching a part for an appliance or a new toy, getting a recipe, stealing code, getting pc updates/fixes and reading tech notes for my truck, paying bills online, shopping, and the list goes on, and on, and on.

Am I the only one here that has this addiction? I'm curious how much time others spend online, and what sites you go to? Do you find the internet useful, and how much do you rely on it? How about your children if you have any? My daughter is 14 and I limit her to an hour a day unless it is directly related to a project.

well I spend my time here alot, weather.com( I am a hunter like to know whats comin), espn.com and the like. I also go to ebaumsworld alot to look at jokes and such. Um also more colorful websites but hay. OH now that I have more money I have been lookin into the companystore whenever I can and whenever its up.

yup, way too much time on the net, and the wife will agree wholeheartedly. mostly on:

here
ar15.com
rat chat
email (x3!)
some ebay, etc

ETA: even i must admit that i click 'refresh' on the busse company site more than my fair share daily. :D

Being retired, I take my breakfast to the PC and spend 1 hour or so. Then at nighttime I come back for at least an hour.

I spend most of my time on the knife forums and E-bay, but I also hit the weather, the AOL weight training site, and the ITAT (Inside the Auburn Tigers) site. I occasionally visit a few other weight training sites.

If I am at home during midday, I briefly check in sometimes on the sale forums and the Company Store, to try to stay ahead of the other hogs. One thing I have learned is that it is very rarely that you can beat Randucci to a bargain.

sometimes i leave my pc to eat, drink or poop, sometimes to go get a gun for a picture,

i went to blade once

Everything you stated. The internet is the most amazing tech advancement. We're lucky to be here at the beginning.
How come you limit your 14 yr. old daughter to 1 hour a day when you use it for almost everything? Cut her some slack, show some trust and advise her on where you would like her not to venture on the net. There is lots to learn on the net and most people her age live there. It's OK as long as she has balance in her life. Help her recognize that.

Far too much time online...

My children think the computer is a family member. I think the internet is a great treatment for my A.D.D. ...................... seriously though, I'm here alot, ebay, bills, atomfilms.com, anything w/ outdoors or survival info, researching cars or any info that comes to mind at the spur of the moment. My wife reads news @ about 8 different sites and reserves library books. My kids listen to music and do homework, besides all our emailing and different forums. We are online alot, but we unplug @ regular intervals so we get into the real world, we still sit down at the table for dinner without anything but music on.

I spend most of my time here and the Swamp Rat Forums, I also watch Ebay and do all of my banking, investing online.

Great Post and also I don't want Fixer27 to win Jerry's contest with his trolling behavior. Come on everyone join in and ignore Fixer27's post.
