how much to get a sheath made?

Chris
My first answer is usually around 100.00 US dollars. Then I ask what kind of sheath you have in mind? Its too long for a pouch style sheath, more of a conventional sheath, Do you want stamping or inlay? Colour?

I'm willing if you are.

PS I live near Toronto. FYI

1st, Join the ABS if you havent already. :)

2nd, give me a holler about that one, I'd be more than happy to make a sheath worthy of such a knife. armoralleather-at-yahoo.com just remove the - around the at and add an @

Your doing some great work there, the future is bright indeed.

Chris, I answered your sheath question over in the Knifemaker's for sale thread by mistake. You can take a look over there if you are interested.

Paul

Chris, give Paul a call, you will never regret it, his sheaths are the best sales pitch that any knifemaker could be blessed with. This from a sheathmaker that is aware of his limitations!!!

Oh, please, Sandy.....your only "limitation" is the number of hours in the day. Same with Paul:D

Wow.. thanks for the response guys!

first off... i am waiting for my 3 years to be up in the ABS... a year to go.. and i can test for JS!

the blade on the knife is about 8.5 inches long... and to tell you the truth.. i dont even know what to ask for. i wanted something simple but elegant.
the knife isnt selling right now.. so i am prolly going to pull it off, get a sheath made and wait for a better time to sell it.

this is a purely monetary question.. but if i get a sheath made, for say 150.. how much of that do i add to the price of the knife?

thanks yall!

The economy is a bit slow right now, especially for big ticket luxuries. People just dont seem to be letting go. :( I'm seeing awfully good deals just languish on the exchange.

I think were just in a slump right now and your very wise to pull the knife temporarily instead of endless drops in price, and it might just take a nice sheath to put someone over that hump.

Best of luck! And good to hear your already in the ABS, looks like you have a bright future indeed. You cannot go wrong with Paul Long, he will put together a stunning sheath for your equally stunning knife. :D
