I dont have the patience to do it myself so I was contemplating just having it done by Busse so it wont affect the warranty.

If someone has had their team gemini done could you post here, or pm me with the price including shipping back to you?.

Also pics of your satin gemini would be great. :)

Just got my answer. I guess for some reason Busse no longer does satin finishes on the team gemini. Doesn't make sense if you ask me

Comp finish on the TGLB is close to satin, but it isn't satin.

And they wont do it custom due to quality issues, I would assume. Because of the fuller and grind, they aren't set up to do the quality job they would want to do if they were gonna put their name on it, so they just don't do it.

You could be right. Oh well :)

Why don't you just put some paint stripper on it and remove the coating. Its not all that hard. You could always bead blast it too if you don't like the plain finish after stripping. Really your only talking about an hours work stripping it and if you bead blast it thats like 10 minutes to do counting tapeing off the scales.

I was thinking about stripping it, but saw what they looked like underneath and didnt like it :). If I tried taking sand paper to it myself it would probably look like crap. LoL.

And I dont want to worry about rust if getting it beadblasted.

I understand but don't like infi being coated, this steel does not have staining issues at all from my experience (live right on the ocean), but I know this process cuts down on costs to Busse and the customer. I like knives so I like steel, hate to see it covered up, I will just stick with satin on infi blades.

Hey Jeepin, sanding is the easy part - getting the slabs off any back on is the tough one IMO. You have to drill out or remove the tubes, and then install / flare new ones once you're done the sanding. If you decide to do it yourself, stop by shoptalk and they'll have some great input for you about the whole process
