Alright guys...first off just wanted to say that I am back, and that I missed this place(even though most of you probablly won't even recognize me). I haven't really posted for awhile...but my INFIdiction overcame soon after all my family problems have settled. I am now ready to get my second Busse, and now searching for a good all around camp knife. I was looking at the BM, for something that i could chop and split wood with(but any other, cheaper, suggestions won't be overlooked). I would prefer the knife to have been a user, since that would most likely be cheaper, cause this college student doesn't have much to spare! Alright, so I guess the question would be how much should I be expecting to pay for a knife of those specifications?

The Comp. SARSQUATCH may be your answer man..

If you want something a little bigger go with the Fusion Steel Heart of any variation.

FSH: expect to pay $475-$1500 depending on type.
SARSQ: expect to pay $300-$400

man the FSH range is pretty big lol! The Sarsquatch did appeal to my senses too...what do i do?!? AHHH!!!

Get an ASH!

The FSH range is so big because the regular FSH'S cost about $500-$600, Heavy Hearts cost about $550-$650, and HOGFSH's cost about $775-$850, and FSHLE'S cost about $1300- $1500, although I've seen one go for $1950.

Bmilla: Get a FBM or a SARsquatch. Watch the exchange as much as you can and you will find one you like and in your price range.

Here are some comparison pics of the SarsQ&HOGFSH
The Sarsquatch is on of the few Busses that can easily push cut a 1000+page book straight out of the factory..

Notice the rust forming on the upper half of the blade. Thats what happened when I left it in my car trunk overnight outside. I like it (rusty camo) .

You can still order an ASH-1 direct from Busse! It would be a great Camp Knife and you could probably get one to match your Urban Warden!! They start at $297 and you can add some cool mag handles as well as Double Cut finish as an option too!

I think ASH-1s make a GREAT camp knife!

Thanks for all the advice...so FBM, Sarsquatch, or SH? something tells me i should wait to see what the NMFBM is though...unless i see something extra special. whatever i decide to get...its gonna get a beating

Almost forgot... For it's size, the CG ASH-1 is a surprisingly good chopper.

The biggest issue here though is probably money. So i'm looking for the most "bang for my buck". I guess availability is a problem too. I dont really see a huge point in buying a knife in mint condition, but ofcourse am willing too if i get to impatient ;) And jeepnut, im impressed you remembered what you sold me, just wanted to put that out there. Creating a poll would be sweet.

At this point if you get a Sarsquatch and you don't like it you can recover you money right away. An FSH might take some time to move.

Good point Tony...the SARsquatch just seems to small to baton into logs for some reason. Maybe I care to much about size and underestimate the power of INFI...then again the biggest i felt was an Urban Warden. Sad huh?

The SARsquatch will be plenty big for battoning. IT won't have the length of a BM, but it will get the job done. I was battoning my little gw the other day to make small kindling.

I would actually use the knife more as a chopper...you should see my back yard. there are those stupid Jagger trees everywhere...im not really sure what they are called sorry. maybe Norcal can help. I would be sure to take a before and after picture

the squatch will do fine as a chopper. its actually my largest busse other than my ak currently.

and welcome back!! good to see you posting again!

if you're wanting a cheaper chopper you might look at scrapyard or swamprat, my main chopper is a SBR and I love that knife, though she might be getting replaced with my CSARsquatch!!
there are still some skinny ASH1s at BCS for about 300$

Then for about 200- 230 get a Dog Father it is close as close to a SHBM blade as you are going to get but has a rubber grip.

.

So now i have the dogfather thrown in the mix...I cant wait to get out of school so i can get a real job and buy ALLLL the knives i want
