How much would it cost to get a Basic 9 satin finished by the Busse shop? I'd also like the factory edge put back on it. I've really beat the hell out of it and the coating is coming off anyway. It's really looking scratched, scuffed, and sad!

I think it would look great satin finished. I have resharpened it many times, and it is very sharp now... but I doubt it has the asymetrical edge on it still. Anybody have an idea of how much something like that would run?

Also, how long would I be without it? I use it a lot...

Thanks guys!

Hey Ant...

I don't know how much something like that would cost,, but I use my #7 quite alot and the finish has had it,,kinda scratched,,kinda buffed off,,,but ya know what I like the way it looks..Gives the blade some character....

Hi Ant,

I had my Basic 9 that I part traded/bought send to Jerry for an expert sharpening and I think he only charges shipping back which is about $6.95.
Getting a satin finish would probably cost a lot more but why not lock yourslef up in the garage with a case of beer a good first-aid kit and anti blister bandages and a ton of sandpaper and do it yourself.
My Basic 9 was done that way by hand to an semi mirror shine with beatifull accents on the choil (part near the grip) because that is really "pitted" and the polishing left a mottled sexy surface with black filled pitts and semi mirror surface.

The only nice thing was it was done by one of the previous owners so I only needed the case of beer and a nice couch and I started enjoying the #9 immediately without any sweat ;)

Have fun, best scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera
