Do you tell non-knife nuts what you paid for your knives?

If a non-knife nut ask "How much is one of these?"
I find it best to just say "To much :)"

What do you say when asked?

I'm honest about what my knives cost if people ask. Then again, not too many people I know have enough interest in knives to ask :( .

I am in a similiar situation to Josh, those who don't care about knives don't ask what they cost. If they do, depending on who it is, I will tell them(meaning not my mom).

Yes, I do...Well, everyone but my wife, anyway.:D.

I do get asked and just tell the non-knife nuts, "More than I make at the racetrack". The people who truly enjoy knives already have a pretty good idea what the cost was.

I try to ignore it if I can. Kinda tired of the reaction.

If they ask though..I'll tell...

Although I might have to lie when my mom asks me:D

Hey Guys..

I'm with Glockman...

Hey Glockman..

If you lie about it,, I'll Swear to it!:)

To anser your question though..
Yes I tell people how much I've spent on a certain knife.. I like the reactions I get...

Funny how people with spend $80-100 bucks at the bar but won't spend a few extra bucks on a good blade..

There is no good answer.

Most of the time they don't ask and I'm glad they don't.

When they do, I generally get the same reaction; .

That's why we are here; because we understand. :D

When I showed my friend a Sebenza he thought it was too expensive. Then came my Mayo, my DDR and I never tell anyone the real price!

If my parents ask, I'll of course minimize the cost, of course, my mom would figure that I'm lying, but normally she wouldn't expose me because my dad would get mad at me.
No one had ask me about how much my blades are, but I guess they figure that if I collect them, they won't be THAT cheap.

Hey Calyth...

If they get bummed about yuor knives, just tell them you sell drugs to support your knife habit..
Then the knives won't seem like such a big deal...:)

I just say it was part of a contest at work or it it was on for a good deal cheaper than they normally are at work.

Hey JJ..

That only works for so long,,especially with the wife...

Contrary to popular belief,,they don't all look the same to them..:)

That tactic works once or twice,, but if your like me,, you need a long term excuse..

Why do you think I started a sheathing business ? Its a front,, to mask my knife addiction...LOL:)

Try and explain away 150+ knives in two years any other way..:)LOL

I just blame y'all. I don't "buy" knives anymore I just trade (yeah right), but as long as she believes it...Whenever I'm caught on a dealers page I just claim I'm checking out prices for a trade.

I always double the price and tell them that. EX if it cost $100 I'll say $200. Then I ask them if they still want to borrow it. :)
