Now, I am just curious (plus, I need to compare) how much would you say you spend money on knives / knife related product monthly ?

I think in average, I spend around $300 - $500 monthly. (not including investment piece)

The reason why I am asking this, because I think I overspend my money. :(

Well, it really all depends on your monthy income and how much savings you can spend on knives without worrying about the 'important' ;) bills.

as EricJ said.. it depends on your income :)
I'm trying to keep it less than 10% :) (sometimes it's very hard, taking into account tha I'm only pure student :D

It varies widely with my interests, Untill September of this year, I don't think I'd bought a knife in a couple years. Every couple years the bug bites me however. Usually it's a Vinctronox swiss army knife or somthing, but....This past August, I wanted somthing nice for EDC as I'd been carrying cheep chinees knock-offs for the past couple years. I went to a gunshow and couldn't make up my mind, went home, got on the internet, wound up on a sword forum, started reading, got interested, before I knew it I was buying books on swordsmanship, had bought a set of wasters, and ordered a high quality sword. It arrived a couple weeks ago, and I love it, it's a total blast! Nothing in my backyard is safe! I still needed a new EDC knife, so the guys at the sword forum sent me here, I picked up three microtechs from the exchange, decided I liked the L-UDT and kept it, but don't dare cary an auto around everyday. The SOCOM's where too big, and too milataristic looking, I put one in my pocket and went to the barber shop, the barber to whom I'd recently mentioned that I was looking to buy a new knife, noticed it, and when I showed it to him, asked "You join a Millitia or somthing?" I wound up trading the two SOCOM's for a large plain Sebenza. I also bought three CRKT's. I guess I've spent about $900 on the past three months, and now have a super nice longsword, a large plain Sebenza for EDC, a L-UDT, three CRKT's, and various accessories and books to show for my adventures. I've learned a lot, and am now considering a couple customs, a fixed blade, and a folder. I know I have to slow down my spending, but what a blast it's been! JDBraddy

if you divide my yearly spending on knives by 12 and then determine what percent of my yearly income that amounts to you get

drumroll

less than 1%

now when i get a sebenza its gonna screw that percentage all up.

NotoS&W:

Because you divided your yearly expenditure by 12, and then divided that figure by your yearly income, you would then have to multiply the 1% by 12 to get the percentage of annual income. According to that calculation, you are spending somewhere around 12% of your income on knives.
