How often do you cut yourself with your knives? Does it go up with a new knife or if freshly sharpened? Cut myself again earlier trying to close sebenza and play video games and curse at the video game cheating ha.

The video game was cheating? Or you were? Funny either way, --I seem to cut myself about twice a month whether I need it or not. Usually while shaving some hair off a leg or arm to check sharpness, often with a knife I already know is sharp... DOH!

anytime i can't beat a level or a boss I assume the video game is cheating. I rarely play but I have to play when home alone because I use more profanity in 30 minutes of playing than I do in 30 days ha
but today was maybe 2nd time in 10 months I have played. almost never happens as I get older.

I jab myself with screwdrivers, tin cans, glass, thorny plants and sheet metal 50X more than with blades(of any kind)

A good amount, but not as much as I probably should considering how often I'm holding/playing with a knife :p

Never really with my folders, never understood how it was possible to when opening or closing one and I keep my other hand clear when cutting. I do nick myself from time to time when flipping a sharp balisong that I haven't taped the blade on...

Pretty much anytime I feel sad or angry...

But seriously, a few times a year probably. Once I was tested out an A/O knife when I first got into them. Dropped it on the back of my hand and thought I'd hit it with the spine of the blade. Felt some wetness later, turns out I hit it with the edge instead. Was not good for the carpet on the way to the bathroom... or the bathroom itself, which looked like a horror movie by the time I was done. Needed stitches for that one.

About a week ago I cut my pointer finger on a can of green beans and then the other day I stabbed a fork 3/16 under my thumb nail. With a knife, not for a very long time. Go figure

Don't want to jinx myself or anything but in the 3 yrs or so that I've been a hardcore knife guy I have only been nicked by a blade twice. Sometimes I have to remind myself not to get complacent because if you really think about it.... it only takes one F up moment to send you to the ER for some stitches.

Started sharpening knives as bit of a hobby to see how sharp I could get them. It doesn't take much for a knife to cut me now. It's a "Hmm that red thing on my hand looks funny, it looks like dried up blood when did that happen? I didn't feel anything. Guess the knife is sharp." that's generally what happens now, dull knives don't cut me as much as they require more effort but when they do it's 1,000x worse. Usually knives tend to nick me when I am sharpening if I do get cut, I either feel slight resistance in the hand holding the knife or see the cut but don't always feel it when I do get cut.

I take a blood thinner so I'm pretty careful not to cut myself. Of course it still happens once or twice a year so I carry several band aids in my wallet for those special occasions.;)

I think people who cut themselves need to seek help ASAP!! ;)

On a more serious note, I accidentally cut myself perhaps three times a year.

Almost every day. I also burn myself almost every day. And when I'm not doing the previous, and sometimes in conjunction with, I grind my flesh on a 36 grit ceramic belt that's going a few hundred miles an hour. Just another day in the life of a knifemaker. Most of the time it isn't too serious, but there have been some real doozies. I don't have fingerprints on either index finger or thumb and it's spotty on my middle fingers. But it's totally worth it. :D

Not very often, surprisingly, maybe once every 6 months. I tend to be pretty careful with my knives.

I cant remember the last time I cut myself, but when I do its usually so small I dont notice and it doesnt draw blood. Im either lucky when it comes to injuries, or I may have gotten it out of my system when I was a kid whether they were small or major.

I seldom cut myself with a knife.

The list, in descending frequency order of cutting myself is:::
1.) paper cuts
2.) nail/screw cuts (working in attics/barns/sheds with nail/screw points sticking through the walls or roofing).
3.) tin can cuts
4.) broken glass cuts
5.) stepped on nails
6.) knife cuts

usually it never happens but the other week I swear I got cut by 2 different knives a total of 3 times on 3 different fingers...It was not my day xD

I get nicks that i can ignore about.......6 times a year? Hard to estimate
I only cut myself seriously 4 times, and one of those was on a window, scraped the skin off my knuckles and nicked my wrist when i tried to punch the stuck window open, there is still blood on my persiennes lol
The real times with my knives were first when i was like five and found a mora under the sink or something and almost cut my left ring finger tip off
Second when i stabbed myself in the left thumb meat with a blue viking mora while fumbling and missing the sheath
Third was when i had a red bull too many and played with my wakizashi, dropped it for no perceivable reason and balanced it on my right index finger tip bone
Funny enough, sowing the last two wounds was far more painful than either washing the wounds in my sink or the cut, when i cut my knuckles on the glass i just asked them to tape my skin back on, and it worked all right

On a not so related note i once heated a shit made in china folders blade and burned a triangle into my thigh with it because i was bored and curious
