For all your folks who use a Sebie for EDC

How often do you take your knife apart for a real clean?

I have been carrying mine for about 4 months now and think it probably needs it now. I have lint in hard to reach places (fnar fnar)

I hvae printed off the instructions on the faq and just need to find time to sit down and do it once I have the flourinated stuff for Frank @ Framar over here.

I've done mine monthly (which is probably much more than needed) since I got it. Every time I'm about to turn the first screw, I hear 'Number 5' saying "NO Disassemble" :)

Brent...
:p

What does that mean?

when new, I took sebbie apart once a week... then again I take pretty much everything apart some time in its life... Now I prolly take it apart every two months... When I plan to clean it but dont wanna take it apart, I just wash it w. dish soap a q-tip and paper to get in the crannies...and open and close it under the faucet. blow dry clean. lube while still warm. (I use miltec1 simply because it was readily available) To apply the lube, I crease a piece of paper and put ONE drop in the crease at the edge... let soak a bit and apply where needed... I find this method to keep it from being over lubed and attracting lint/dirt. Tuffcloth blade and wipe clean w/ non terrycloth rag... sharpen and groove to the mothership.
