How often do you reload a strop?

I am new to the leather strop. Have been having wonderful results with it, but how often do you reload it? Wait until it seems to be taking longer to get the same results? Put a bit on it each time?

I don't do large volumes.

Thanks

I wait until mine is pretty black then scrub it (dry) on a scotchbrite pad and then reload it.

Typically (for me), when it gets black and slick, and doesn't seem to be working as well as it used to,
I wipe it off with Zippo lighter fluid and re-load.

I wouldn't re-load it each time you use it...that's too much IMO.
