how often do you rotate your CRK edc's?

For those guys and gals who carry more than one CRK during the course of year, I was wondering how often you rotate, or if you rotate based on what you are setting out to do?

I still havent decided on a favourite model, so I've committed myself to carrying each for a solid week, so I get a good chance to develop some firm opinions, and figure out which features I miss when they are not there, etc. My weekly tasks stay pretty constant, so I'm on a bit of a quest to find which one blade is the best compromise. Also keeps things interesting, without having to keep buying new knives (wish I had the coin to do that, but I don't :D ).

Anyways.....just wondering if anyone else has a concept for their rotation, or another goal or strategy for having multiple CRK EDCs.

Not really. While I collect knives and have many, I don't collect CRKs at all.

It's a very odd thing though, because I only carry Sebenzas. It's as simple as small or large depending where I am going. I have tons of knives in acrylic display cases...some are as or more expensive than a Sebenza. I have two Sebs in my valet box. Neither have ever been in a case despite them being my favorite knives. (And neither are really in display condition.)

I usually rotate between my 21 and 25 every day or every other day. No reason other than I enjoy using all my knives.

I usually just open the safe and grab the CRK that, at that moment, says, "pick me!" I mostly carry my 25 though.

I carry my 25 and my Large Insingo about equally. Sometimes for a day or two before rotating. Never more than three or four days. Completely random as to which one gets picked and how long it stays as the EDC.

I have a four CRK's I rotate through. Nothing scheduled, nothing in a regular rotation, and nothing planned. I open my drawer and pick the one that suits my fancy that day.

These are the 4:

Small Blue Reg

Small 21 Insingo

Small African Blackwood Classic

Small P Seb

Every day, with no rhyme or reason. I open the drawer every morning and see what looks good!

Sort of like the rest. It just depends on what catches my eye. On weekends it is most always my Umnumzaan or lg. regular. Hunting always the Umnumzaan and small reg.

Really just depends on mood. That's the nice thing about crk. So many choices. During the week mnandi or small sebenza. Weekend is always large sebenza's.

Ill typically rotate between my Large 21,classic, regulars, umnum, and ti-lock during the week and for special occasions or on days I feel extra special Ill take the Lochsa for a spin. but really I usually just go on mood.

During wintertime I switch to inlayed Sebies.
In summertime plain (some decorated) ones.
Most of the time a Mnandi is added.

I carry an Umnumzaan nearly all the time, that is broken up by random intervals of a large Regular and on occasion the Mnandi. The Umnumzaan sees the lion's share of pocket time easily though. :)

Pics please!

As you wish!

My weekly rotation for the most part. the lochsa probably gets the most pocket time only because, well….

I feel bad posting the Lochsa in this forum, the only reason I do is because I consider it to be a relative of the CRK family.

that actually kind of makes sense; the wood inlays are probably warmer or give that feeling at least, while the cold plain janes are nice for the hot summer months.

Yes, we will consider the Lochsa a 2nd cousin, once removed!
You have a VERY nice collection and admittedly, I am a little green with envy.

21
Classic with what I assume is a Southard backspacer
The beautiful Reg
And then you throw in the 1-2 punch combo with a Lochsa and a Laconico Slim EDC?

I am down for the count. . .

I'll just carry one until I feel the need to shake things up. There is no logic or set amount of time involved.
