How often does Busse swap out production?

I've been looking at the Busse web page and see the only knife they're currently selling is the Badger Attack. I was wondering how long they usually sell a particular style of knife before going on to the next one. Debating if I can hold of buying one a bit longer (say July). Also, other then ebay, is there a good site to find a variety of their knives? Thanks.

Hey corwise. From what I have seen they swap out every few months. Then when the new line pops up the previous line will show up at Skunk's co. store (just incase you missed one).

Yah right here on bladeforums is the best bet. If you are looking for a certian model you can always post in the wanted to buy section.

So in conclusion, you may be able to wait until July and still score a BATAC at retail, but I would keep a close eye on the Company store(operated by SKUNK) as that inventory tends to move at the speed of light.

And the biggest variety is not on ebay, it is right here on the Blade Forums exchange, I think there are dozens of Busse blades for sale at any moment, and like the ones at the company store, some of them only last a moment. So a wanted to buy post may be a good idea once you figure out what you want and how much you are going to have to pay to get it.

Thanks for the words. Can I get the web site for SKUNKS store? Can't find it with google. :)

Excellent, thank you. I have to ask though. Is there a reason Busse (and Swamp Rat) have two or three web sites for their 'official site,' the 'store,' etc? Or am I the only one that has been really confused with this? :)

The Busse Combat site orders directly from Busse. You get to order any of the available options, for future production.

The Busse Company Store is an independent site run by a dealer (Skunk). He orders stuff that he thinks people will buy, and is stuck with it until they do. Fewer options, but immediate delivery, since he doesn't advertise an item until he has it from the shop. Skunk could have any number of arrangements with Jerry regarding cost, delivery terms, allowable markup, etc.

An analogy that comes to mind is Spyderco - you can order directly from Spyderco, or through one of their many dealers. Except that the spyderco factory store only advertises knives on hand (not future orders), and Busse only has one dealer (true, other dealers resell Busse knives, I'm not sure if they have special pricing arrangements or whatnot)

Busse Combat / Swamp Rat / Scrap Yard brands keep the different knife grades seperate. There may have been tax or business advantages to spinning these off as seperate companies, or Jerry may have just been distributing management labor. This isn't my area of expertise.
