I recently acquired an older Collins Pulaski, and I was checking to see if anyone had any information about its age. The only marking is COLLINS in a rectangle. Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

Thats a standard issue tool of the U.S. Forest Service. I have seen them painted red.
I tend to think recent. DM

I would also like to know when your "Pulaski" was made! The COLLINS name inside a rectangle has been used for a long time. There is an image that shows some single bit axes with that logo in the 1936 catalog. All of "the very best grade" tools were stamped "The Collins Co." or "Collins and Co.". "Goods at lower prices" bear other brands. The "pulaski" style axe in the 1936 catalog was called a FORESTER'S AXE, and it had a much more detailed label.

Thanks guys, I’m a wildland firefighter, and I’ve found the traditional 36” Pulaski handle is too short for my height when digging with the adze end. I found this Pulaski head on eBay, and I’m going to mount a 44” Fletcher Mattock handle to it. I was just hoping this Collins Pulaski head was a decent quality one before I mounted it.
