How old is this model Benchmade 885?

I found this statement about BM885:
"Allen Elishewitz's latest design for BENCHMADE."
Is it kind of out of date? I see Dark star being knife of the month for Aug 2000. 3 years ago. And there is no this knife in the BM Catalog.
Is my assumption right and this is 1999-2000 model not in production any more?
I heart Alan does not designing knives for BM anymore. Why?

The prototype came out for the 1999 Shot Show. I have one of those the big brother 880 is also a 1999 Shot Show prototype have one of those as well.

As to why Bm ans Elishewitz are no more no one knows for sure. Most likely a dispute between Allen and BM regarding money or production rights.
