I found this knife in the dirt under a rain barrel at my Grandparent's house about 50 years ago. I am guessing it belonged to my Grandpa and it fell out of his pocket when he was messing with the rain barrel, but he had recently passed away so I couldn't ask him. It looks ancient, but I think being under the rain barrel aged it. The scales are presumably smooth bone. It's my favorite "whittling" knife due to it's high quality carbon steel blades.

That’s in impressively good shape considering where it was found.

Ulster number 12?
10 was clip point, 11 spear point, 12 (rare in the US. Somewhat common in England, I heard) was sheepsfoot primary blades, if I remenber right. All had a pen secndary.

1950's to early 1960's would be my guess.

I have not been able to find an Ulster tang stamp chart to date my Number 10.

Given the relatively recent manufacture date, this also could have been my dad's knife, he inherited the house after my grandparents passed away in the early 70's. He passed almost 20 years ago, so I can't ask him either. I did some digging on the internet and the picture in the link is from the 1960 catalog.

Catalog helps date it, if that is the 1960 catalog they are listing only one handle material which is bonite, another name for delrin I think. Yours being bone would be pre 1960.
