How long have you had your buck knife?
From personal experience try seem to be timeless pieces of sentimental value and hard work.
My father had a buck 112 for 20 years, my coworker has had his 501 for at least 20 years, and I am following that tradition with a Buck 501.

I've had my first 301 since 1970 and my 105 since 1976.

110 used every hunting season since only 2003, 301 and 119 from 2011. They've all got many many more years of service left.

I've got a 309 from 1985. My 112 from '77 and Bucklite from '85 disappeared, but have been replaced.

I have 3 Bucks that date back quite a ways. I have a 501 that I bought in the late 70's, early '80s. Can't recall exactly when and the knife is currently at Buck for a tune up. Pre date stamp.

But older than that is a Buck 701 that I inherited from my Dad. Also pre date stamp. He passed in 1999 and had the 701 as his EDC for many, many years prior to that. I know that he had it long before I bought my 501.

Finally, I have an old Rangerlite with a 1986 stamp.

My wife bought me my first 112 for our first Christmas together, which started my collecting habbat in 1994.

My first was a 110 purchased at the base exchange either late 1979 or early 80. Wish I could find it.

505 was my EDC from mid 80's to just a couple years ago when I started branching out and "collecting." It wore holes through many jeans-pockets. I bought it in high school and I remember being really excited to finally get a "real" knife of that kind of quality. I had coveted it for months while I collected nickels and quarters. It's still a great knife but I tend to go for a small slipjoint in NYC now.

I purchased my first Buck knife in 1976 a 107 Scout. A model 120 came a few years later. I used them for 15yrs. before getting a 110. I still have them and they're great knives. DM

This 703 was bought in 1980 or '81 at a PX either in Bremerton WA or somewhere in AK while serving there in the Coast Guard. It was my second Buck ever.

I don't remember the exact year. It was sometime in the late 60's.

I started with a 110 in the early 1970s, but the ones still in my possession are a 1978 110, a 1984 Bass Pro wood handled 122 or 123 filet knife, a 1984 124 Frontiersman and a 1980s orange key chain Buck knife.

My wife had great taste and bought each of those that are still in my possession for me. :)

I have a 639 Fieldmate that Santa brought in the early- to mid-90s. I've got a few that are older than that, but it's the first Buck that was mine. Gotta dig it out to check the date and make some pictures.

My very first Buck was the small sheath knife I bought in Missoula in 1967 for the princely sum of $13. The next Buck, a model 110 did not happen until 1974. Somewhere in between was a Buck hand axe from the PX that set me back $13. Unlucky #13 has been good to me. Viet Nam was bad back then but nothing like the events happening today. The days of cheap are gone forever. I treasure my old Bucks. Thanks.
