How popular is the BM 477 Large Emissary?

I've been trying to get my hands on a 477 for a while now but I think it is way overpriced so I have been scouring the for sale forums on here but to no avail.

I am wondering if the reason I am having trouble finding one is because A.)the knife is so great nobody wants to get rid of it or B.) the knife is just "luke warm" and nobody bothered to buy it.

Anybody have any thoughts?

P.S. I posted in the wanted to buy forums if anybody is interested.
 
I wondered the same thing, so I pulled the trigger on the Aqua one. I agree that it's a bit overpriced at MAP. Luckily Benchmade offers a pretty good discount to FF/LEO so that pushed me over the edge.

I suppose I'll let you know in a few days when it gets here!
 
What is the discount like and does it extend to military?

I'll be a part of that relatively soon.
 
The knife is pretty new so that may be one reason you haven't seen many on the forums, especially the ones with blue scales.
 
Got mine in today. Fit and finish is excellent. Razor sharp. Well centered and zero blade play.

I think I like it.

I believe it's just like the 470 only scaled up. Haven't tried to remove it, I like it.
 
I'm really wanting one these as well, especially since they came out with the blue. Not much larger than my 943 and lighter than my ZT 566 so should work right into the EDC rotation.

Other than the price, which with all BMs now is pretty brutal these days, is there anything keeping people away from this knife? Just asking because from what little I've read and seen on the couple of video reviews, this should be a great blade, and I was expecting quite a bit of hype, which I haven't seen.
 
Almost pulled the trigger on one but it just doesn't feel right in my hand!,,,, index finger cutout feels to narrow it seems!!??? Otherwise great but a wee bit over priced!,,,would have still gotten it had the grip felt better.
 
I bought one because I like the 470 but I sold it because it's not just a larger version of the 470. The safety switch is different and I really didn't like how it operated compared to the 470. I sold it on the exchange and it took forever and I had to take an enormous loss when it finally sold. I don't think this one is getting too much attention -- it was certainly a miss for me.
 
I love the 477, fits my hand well and I like the assist....it's almost as quick as some of my autos. The blue is beautiful and I wish I had the funds to add that one to the collection as well.2
