How rare is this?

Never heard of it before and would guess it's quite rare.......value depends on if anybody cares or wants one.

Hard to judge.

:)

Maybe the seller has background.

Wolf, I've seen one of those . Someone can look those up in special projects . I don't recall how many were made but not many . Maybe 100 . Sure is a handsome 119 . DM

I think that was a SMKW only knife. They usually have runs of 250 or so max

You would think they'd have fixed that flag after only a few were made facing the wrong way.

Maybe those were then given to salesmen or others.

That knife is a salesman sample. That seller is/was a Buck rep.

That 119 was made for sheperd of the hills cutlery. (Spelling?)

I believe the production knives were etched XXX/250. I do not know if the run was ever completed though. Scott Hartman will probably have better info. ;)

If you click the "view all revisions" you will see that this knife or ones like it were up for sale in the past.

Interesting knife, but I'll pass on this. I don't care for the "land of the free - home of the brave" inscription on the knife, though I have no objection the sentiment, it's a bit idealistic for my taste. If the inscription read "...government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth" (to quote Abe Lincoln) I would have gone for it. But that's just me. :)

I am not a fan of having anything written on a knife handle, so I'm with you on that.

I view the knife as more of a curiosity than anything else.......something for the collector of Buck oddities.
