How scratch resistant is micarta?

Hi everyone,

I have a small polished micarta handled knife and was wondering how scratch resistant it was? Is putting it on your keyring a bad idea?

The handle will get dull on a keyring, but shouldn't scratch too deeply.

It's as scratch resistant to surface scratches as epoxy resin. (that is to say, not very.)

It is quite resistant to deep scratches.

Cheers Knarfeng

I might go ahead and put it on my keyring anyway. Hope it doesn't wear too badly!

If you buff it out to about 600 grit it will look pretty good and the scratches will blend in.
