My new Manix 2 XL is perfect in every way except that the blade is not perfectly centered. It almost touches one side of the liner but doesn't. Is there anything I should do to try and fix it? Return it for another? Thanks in advance.

A off-center blade has no influence on the knifes cutting performance. The Manix XL is not a one-off custom, where you are paying big bucks for perfection in every sense.

Send it to me for an evaluation, if it's no good I'll dispose of it for you. ;)

It's fine, you can try adjusting the screws, but if it locks up like it's supposed to and there's no problem cutting... I guess you could contact Spyderco. I'd just use it.

"As long as it doesn't scrape the side I wouldn't worry about it. " Right on. If it scrapes the side, send it back.

If it's a user, and it's not scraping the side, forget about it and enjoy the knife. If it's scraping the side, decide whether you care about the scratches, and take the appropriate action.

IOW, for a user, it's not a serious defect. It only becomes a serious defect if the edge is striking something, whether the liner or something else in the blade channel.

If it's a pristine collector, send it back. If you can't stand it and it bugs you every time you look at it, send it back.
