Hello,

I have had this beauty for about a year now and I am starting to see some tarnishing on the bolsters/guard.
I'm not sure what brand I should use to clean it, also I don't know what it would do to the wooden handle and the wooden accent parts of the handle.
What should I do to protect the wood if need be?
Thank you for your help!

I wouldn't worry about the wood, it will be fine. The brass you can polish with most any abrasive compound but some will work much better than others. Here is a good break down of compounds and their uses, http://www.swmetal.com/category-s/1865.htm

The handle is not exactly wood-it's a wood laminate.
If you use a very fine polish such as Simichrome you won't harm the wood. Coarser polishes like Brasso could dull the polish on the laminate

Yeah I kinda figured it was a laminated wood sense there is a very small seam I can feel when i slide my fingers over it. Thanks for this tip.

Would this work?

Competition Chemicals Cleaner Simichrom Polish 50 Gram/1.76 Oz (its at Walmart)

I have the same knife. I use Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish and it works well.

I have had a hard time finding Mother's polish down here, but Turtle Wax makes their own version that works very well.
