How should I finish this knife?

All right gentlemen, I was thinking about doing just a plain ol' green/black G-10 handle, but then I got to thinking about maybe putting black G-10 as bolsters. Was also thinking about stainless bolsters too. The knife is right off the grinder so the finger notch up at the tip will be cleaned up. Other than handle materials what do you think of the design?

Thanks for any input!:)

I like :)
I'd hook the gut hook a bit more and mebbe ease off the little finger notch a touch. Where'd you get your black/green G10? Do TKS/Koval (I forget which) have it back in stock? Stainless bolsters + G10 would look great :)

Thanks for the input Ferret. The part up at the tip was originally going to be a gut hook(howed ya know?:D)SHUDDER! but I got the guy talked out of turning it into one. I showed him the benifits of useing it as another finger placement instead of another edge on the knife. I hate! Let me repeate I HATE doing gut hooks! So anything I can do to talk someone out of one I will do. :barf:
Sorry but I can't help you with knowing if Koval's (that's where I got my G-10) still has some in supply. I got mine in Tulsa Oklahoma at "THE BIGGEST GUN AN KNIFE SHOW IN THE WORLD!" and believe it when they say that! :D

First off, nice knife.
A question tho, Can you put a bolster on with your first pin holes so far foward? I've always been partial to wide stainless bolsters.
I've also liked my hunting knives to have a natural material for a handle. A nice stabilised burl and a lined thong hole would be a nice touch.
Make sure the ridges between the fingers are not too high and sharp. I look foward to seeing the finished piece and hearing a review on how it handled.

Well, since you have those forward holes already drilled, you are pretty much stuck with some kind of bolsters. So go with your plan there. I would turn the top of the knife into a semi skinnner shape. Take some of that gut hook leftover off and slim down the spine a little, and you will have a really slick hunter/utility knife.

I like the lines the way they are, I'd make a quick pine model of the handle to make sure that the finger lines are in the right place.

stainless bolster and butt will look great, but I'd give the handle a little color rosewood or red micarta, pink ivory maybe for a lady.

but thats me, and it your choice

have fun,EE

How is this? Talked with him about material selection and he want's the G/B G-10 handles. Bolster material he is up in the air about.
He likes the handles finger groove placement so I don't think we will do anything there but change where a pin will be going.
