Hello everyone,

My Dad finally drew a moose tag (and got one) after putting in for over 20 years! He gave me some moose hamburger, and some moose round steaks. How should I prepare them? I've never eaten moose before, and probably won't get the chance to eat it again anytime soon, so I want to do something awesome and worthwhile with what I got!

Any recipes/suggestions welcome, thanks!

I like the steaks prepared as medallions then cooked with onions and gravy. Most recipes found online for liver and onions work. The ground will work in any recipe using ground beef, just remember that unless mixed with beef fat, it will be quite lean and will dry out when cooked. So wet recipes work best.

It is a staple here in the far north. Like Coder says the Burger can used in any recipe where you use ground beef. What you do with the stakes and roasts depends on the age and condition of the animal. The loins are my favorite fried with eggs for reakfast.

Treat moose like better cuts of beef. Moose is much like beef and can be used in any beef recipe. Enjoy!
