Should I store my Whirlwind open or closed? Thanks.

Store closed...and in your pocket.

A good "rule of thumb", (and one that I go by), is that you store "FOLDERS" in the "closed position", and fixed-blade knives in the "open position".

Simple, huh?.

Gotta argue on the folders with you Glockman.
well, more specificly the Autos, because if they are stored in the closed position for a long time, it Will weaken the spring, and they have also broke in that position.
but I don't think that it will effect the whirlwind.

You should store it at my house

Open when being used, closed the rest of the time

Maybe if you'd "store" a BM42 and one of those CQC tacticals at MY house.

Igonore this. Just a test.

...Test failed. "Only forum leaders may delete posts." But then, why does it say "(and only registered users may edit/delete posts)" I mean, like an unregistered user would be a forum leader. Who cares.

Maurice,
Hell yes, I would think so. I'm sure that this topic is worthy of many dedicated threads, but suffice it to say, most knives would offend sheeple. I would say that even the concept of being reasonably prepared for things other than an uneventful day at the office and shuttling the kids to soccer practice and back would make most sheeple apprehensive, at least. Self reliance is a serious threat to herd mentality.

I prefer to store mine open in order to prolong the life of the tension bar, though I no longer do this when carrying in my pocket (I had to replace my pants too often, and the doctor's bills were also adding up).
