For those of you who own the custom 110's and have the BG-42 steel. How stainless is this steel? Can I cut cheese with it and simply wipe the blade off on my jeans? or do i have to use metal polish everytime I get a fingerprint on it.. I also eat oranges quite often and I use my regular 110 all the time.... will the BG-42 handle this aswell?

Thanks a bunch.

BG-42 is fairly stain resistant, more so than D2 for usre, but not as stain resistant as Buck's workhorse steel 420HC.

BG-42 is a higher performing steel than 420HC, but not in the stain resistance area.

I wouldn't leave acidic juices on either blade however (citrus, tomatoes, etc). A little spit and your blue jeans goes a long way.
