How strong is a Voorhis knife?

I just got this Voorhis fighter, and wonder if it is robust enough to use, for stuff like a Kabar would be used for...cutting, light woodcraft, light camp chores. I have never seen pics of a Voorhis tang, yet the knife feels very sturdy, and great in the hand.

Robust enough to use for what? Felling a sequoia, opening boxes?

It seems more a display piece, given the "hilt."

My guess is it will be pretty close to the Randall #1 tang -

Voorhis is pretty well regarded, the main gripe is that he's somewhat hard to get a hold of. He's an old school send a letter / make a call type maker. Most of his sales are through dealers.

Hilt/guard, whatever you wanna call it, prevents one from using their thumb on the spine to stabilize/add pressure while doing finer cuts. Fighting type knife, not really a do it all outdoorsman knife IMO.
