How thin an edge with Superblue steel?

I've had my Delica Super Blue at 15 dps for a while now, and like it just fine. But I was wondering how thin of an edge folks have gotten away with, and still maintained decent edge stability? Could I, for example, go as low as 7-10 dps? And not have chipping or major edge deformation. For the record, my Delica is my dedicated slicer. Doesn't cut anything tougher than clamshell packaging.

Thin her out! I noticed that my SB has good edge stability. Especially vs. ZDP-189 and S30V. I'd go comfortably down to 10 dps. You can always fix it.

Degrees per side. So 15 DPS would be 30 degrees inclusive.

My user Stretch has a full height convex, with only a 15 dps coarse micro bevel (not even visible here). It is very thin behind the edge, and it has held up excellently over the last 9 months. Cutting ability is on par with the Nilakka. I have not seen any chipping. Typical light edc tasks like food, packaging, cardboard etc.

I would guess 10 dps would be ok for light use. I would not trust mine with tough clamshell packaging...

Thanks Skwurll, it cuts well ! :)

I have been very happy with the performance of Superblue.

@Brobrady, the convex was done freehand, the micro bevel with the Sharpmaker. I am sticking to 15 dps micros because it is so easy to touch up on the SM.
