Finger tight using a allen wrench holding the short end. Or 55 ft pounds with a 1/2" breaker bar, what ever you prefer

I'll tighten as tight as I can get it with the short end of an allen wrench. Then I'll switch to the longer end and tighten an additional 1/8 turn.

Always. Unless your using nylok nuts.

Overtightening and breaking them probably LOL!

I usually go an additional 1/8th-1/4 turn after finger tight.

Thanks people! I went with tight and a little past tight turn. I don't have a foot/pound torque wrench around right now for JD Miller's second choice.

I have never in my life ruined a set of handles during normal use. Hell, never worn out a set even under hard use!

High speed chopping enduro race..... No,, I haven't really worn out any scales. I kind of like the stock black scales

With a quantitative response in either foot/pound, inch pounds or Newton meters, tighter, but not too much tighter, than finger tight would work.

DO NOT use the old cranked real tight until it turns real easy then back off a quarter turn method!
