How to add some texture to that knife handle!

Thanks for taking the time to do the video. (Hopefully you normally wear a respirator when working with G10 :-)

Thanks! I had no idea that could be done with a Dremel and turn out so nice- will have to give it a try!

The BLO will not soak in to the g-10. I'm not sure it would do much of anything other than make it temporarily darker and oily. Finishing the handle with higher grit and then buffing it would give it a more permanent darker sheen. Good work on the scallops though. You have some dremel skills!

@ Shane Ive actually had the linseed oil on them for quite some time and the color never really fades. I feel like it would have to be worn down heavily to take away from it.

Hey guys! So I recently bought the Gerber Mark II knife and I'm very impressed with it. It's a double-sided dagger with a unique serrated edge and being a Gerber knife it has very good steel, a great edge, and is easy to sharpen. The only thing tripping me up is the grip. I'll post a picture to show you but it's basically just a metal handle with no texture or griping. I want to add something to it to make it less slippery when wet or if your hand is sweaty but I don't want the grip to take away from the elegant design of the knife. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. You’ll likely get some comments that you’re posting to a thread from back in 2014-that’s generally frowned upon. You’ll likely get better chances of help with your specific knife/handle question if you start a new thread than if you post at the end of someone else’s lining out a method they use in a video on a different material. Not sure exactly what kind of handle material, coating (if any?), etc. your handle is, so I have a hard time giving you good advice. I’m sure someone will have some suggestions though.
