1. how does a person order a busse custom shop blade.

2. How much would it cost to get a combat grade badger attack with desert g10 and a satin blade? i know it would just be a estimate.

1st contact the shop and place the order with Garth.

The cost will be approx. 100.00 a inch.

The wait can be up to 2 years.

Probably about $300 to $400... it's been said that custom ordered INFI is about $100 per inch though.

Oh... and you'll probably have a 2+ year wait. :p

7 years ago, full Custom orders were $100.00 per inch with aprox 2 year wait.

At that time it was easier and faster to get a knife with a handle in current production and then get the Blade ground to the Blade shape you were looking for.

To just get a knife with a different coating or custom Handle slabs, just contact the shop.

Which Badger? the BA (aka SHBA), BA-E, BA3, or the BATAC?

Only thing I can add is that you may get lucky on the time frame 'if' the shop has some of that blade shape in stock. From what i've been able to gather they don't have stocks of every blade sitting there so that's why the wait can be long.

What's a couple years when it means custom INFI.??? :foot::foot:
I know mine
Ops, almost let that one slip. :D

Have you been waiting even longer than Last Visible Canary? or does he still have the record? (Sasquatch Hogs excluded, of course)

Hasn't ProPorker been waiting like 3 or 4 years for his NICKs??

it wouldnt matter to me which badger. if the $100 per inch is total then that would put it at $900 and out of my price range. i could do $400.

oooh man... I felt so bad reading about that whole scenario. place a custom order, then a production run of the exact same knife comes and goes before yours gets to you.

Wasn't chucks chuckete 3.5 years? I've still got 6 months to that point.

You can call the shop and ask about how to order customs (they may give you garth email adress, or forward you to the custom shop phone). I would suggest sending an email with a picture of your design and a description for garth to okay if it's something out of the ordinary. I've never been comfortable with the idea of just sending a knife in a box with customization instructions without asking first.

There are two types of custom orders, theres "custom" knives, and theres "customized" knives. what you seemt to be talking about is a customized knife, one of the standard badger attack profiles, I'm assuming a batac. If you can purchase a batac on the open market (somewhere between 250-325$ now I think) you can send it into the custom shop and have them "customize" it for you, recoating it and putting whatever handle material you want on it.

The benefit of having a production knife "customized" is that the wait time is cut down, and so is the price. The custom shop charges 75$ per hour of work on the knife, and those two features shouldn't take more then 2 hours, so you're likely looking at 100-150$ charge from the shop itself. Your wait time on something like that will probably 3-7 months. If they have the handle slabs already made and ready for install, the wait time will be shorter (if all they need to do is recoat and install premade slabs, you could see it back in a month). if they have to make the handles (hand shape or cnc it), it will be longer.

so, for that knife probably (+/-) 300$+150$ at say 6 months turn around.

now, if you want something truly custom, say a jumbo batac the size of a battle mistress, or something that isn't a stock production knife, you'll pay and wait the full custom price and time. for a batac with custom profile (say choiless), expect around 650$. the wait time, that could be anywhere from 1.5 years to 4 years, depending on a big ol' variety of issues. don't expect anything earlier then 2 years on a fully custom design.
