Hello everyone. I was wondering how do you apply nano oil? When I clean my knives I take them apart and apply a drop of nano oil on each side of each washer. When I get my knife back together it is gritty and not smooth at all. It has been very humid out lately and I notice it happened once after I came back inside that it was gritty but other times I was just opening and closing it. Can you please tell me how to apply it correctly and why my knives are getting gritty?

Threads like this belong in the Maintenance, Tinkering & Embellishment forum. I'll move it there.

Thanks!

Jason

Your applying it right. Sounds like you need to clean the parts better before you reassemble the knife. Nano oil is great stuff.

I put a drop or two on the side of the washer that contacts the blade. I'm sure it doesn't matter if you do it to both.

Your not cleaning it well enough ...
Well actually more likely your cleaning it and then contaminating it when you reassemble...

My nano oil makes em slippery smooth

I had the same problem so I Mr. St. Claire called me. He noted that some washers may not be exactly flat so a cam effect is occurring when you open it. What I've done and it solved the problem was apply 5 weight Nano Oil to 'prime' the surface with Nano Bearings, wipe the excess off, then apply Nano Grease. The grease pretty much fills the gap between all the uneven surfaces and makes it very smooth. Hopefully this helps.

We don't know what your doing wrong either. What knife are you lubing? What are you using the knife for? Are your washers flat and smooth? Are your pockets excessively dirty?
