OK so when I awoke today the sun was shining, perfect day for a hike !!!
I have never taken my Grunt out with me before and decided that this would be a good day for it's first outing !!!

When I spots this snake, I'll call him Sid !

He was a lovely little Garter Snake but he'd really warmed up from the sun and was as fast as lightening. He was way too fast for me in my hiking boots and I thought I had blown the chance to get a good pic !!!
So with Sid gone I decided to take another pic of my Grunt for you...

Now here is the amazing part, as I took the pic above I noticed something to my left coming to check out my knife......it was Sally, Sids other half and boy was she a beauty, check her out, I'm glad Sid was gone or he may have been jealous !!!

So if you want to attract a Snake, get a Grunt !!!

its weird, that snake is almost cute, haha :D

I still want to try a big blackjack, one of those choppers.

Definitely some real photography skills at work here.

And your dog is delightful. Love his/her smile. Quite photogenic.

How did the Grunt do??--you happy with it??

great photos too!!!!

Other than cut a little wood I did not really use it, I am quite sure that it could handle any Camp/ Survival chores that I could throw at it though !
The handle feels great and the blade is the sharpest I have seen, the knife's overall size though is a little larger than I like to EDC !!!:)

Great pics of some beautiful country.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments. However regarding my dog, she is a nightmare to photograph because she can't stand still. Everytime I am about to take a pic she goes and moves, so it is just by chance when I manage to take a decent pic of her !!!!:D

Heisler , I'm Just outside Victoria, the pics were taken at Saanich inlet !!!

Hey pitdog,

You and your "just an old" Vivitar take some great pictures. I'm currently shopping around for a digicam, checking all the reviews on the web, etc, and I will be quite happy if whatever I buy takes as good a macro as you (and yours) do.

Doc

I'm jealous as hell of all the time you spend in beautiful places, pitdog.

Thanks for sharing the gorgeous pics; you should submit some of your work to outdoors-type magazines.
