"GUNTING will not be available till SEptember, thats when they are scheduled
to start shipping. If you join the Collectors club at SPYDERCO you can get
one of the first 1000, that are numbered issues. Check on the SPYDERCO
forums. Post and ask how to join the collectors club....or to buy a GUNTING
SET...outright!"

This is how Bram Frank wrote to me. Should anyone give me this information?.
Thanks.

Noone should give that sort of information if they have even the slightest regard for your bank balance, but if you are already beyond help its a good way to go

Have to buy one of everythng? How many knives is that a year? How about agreeing to buy 3 or 4 knives per year. That tempts people like me to become members. As an added incentive, if you join you can receive an autorgaphed copy of the Spyderco book at a reduced rate of $xx.xx. Of course if there are already a lot of members, then Mr. Glesser has no rason to change the membership requirements.

Osvaldo, David - The Collectors are part of the first 200 pieces. We generally make 4 or 5 new models per year. Arrangements are made through your local dealer (your choice) or distributor for delivery (or through SFO).

Pricing is your arrangement with your dealer for knives or Spyderco book or ? If you go through SFO, we have to charge MSRP.

We also may make 1 or 2 variations of existing models that you can choose to purchase if you wish.

collectors are assigned a collector number and receive the same number of each model each time we come out with one.

hello,
Sal, thanks for the clarification (and thanks to David, Ferret and Ewok too).
My interest for Spy Collectors Club is for a pair of reasons. First, in Spain, are not a lot of people that do knife collections and is very difficult to obtain custom knife models. If a new Spy model born in July, it will not arrive to spain until next December and, like you can understand, this is a great handicap to get a Collector unit. Second, if I buy some Spy through internet, I have to pay in $$ (remember that you have a strong money and the change from ptas, to $ is very expensive) and them I have to pay the shipment rates (often 50% plus of the total value).

Bram Frank said to me that maybe, the Collectors Club will be a solution of my two problems (the time and the money).
What do you think??.

Osvaldo, I face similar problems from here in Australia regarding knife collecting and exchange rates.
There's not much you can do about the exchange rate, but you can shop around online to get a price you're happy with. Knives generally take around 2 weeks to get here, averaging US$15 per package, and the situation shouldn't be that much different for you. If you decide you want numbered knives (as I did) you can pass many happy hours scouring online auctions, BF's own for sale bits and endlessly emailing dealers.
I hope this helps, although it may just show the depths of my depravity
