How to black-wash?...

BF members,
I have two small stainless steel parts that have a satin finish. If I want to give them a black-wash finish, what's the best way to do that? Does a mustard patina do this? If so, how long do I leave them in mustard?

You won't have much success trying to darken stainless, I'm sorry to say.

Out of curiosity I searched blackened stainless and found a few videos.

I didn't say it can't be blackened. I said I doubt he would have much success.
