How to buy a Sebenza

It's simple really. All it took was selling 7 knives, 2 flashlights, 2 watches, a pair of shoes, and cashing in my change jar. But, $410 later, I am the proud owner of a brand new Sebenza, my very first CRK.

So, if you're some one who thought they would never be able to afford a knife like this, get creative. You'd be surprised how much money you've got hanging around. If a broke college kid (me) can do it, so can you.

By the way, this is my first post and I have to thank all the members of these forums for sharing your knowledge and experience.

That's pretty much the way I aquire all of mine as well. Makes me appreciate them all the more for the sacrifice.

Good for you, and welcome to the CRK Forum. Glad to have you here. :)

Nope, that didn't work.

Can't agree more, I had to do many similar acts to get my 0560. Also a college student

Must be the new Invis-a-clear prototype, cause I've searched this thread over and can't find a pic of it anywhere.:) Kidding my friend, glad you decided to join us. Part of our obsession is a burning desire to see newly purchased CRK's. I know, it may indeed look just like most everyone else's, but it's not the same; because the one you have is yours and that makes it special.;)

matgarsmi: I think it is great that you made a plan, stuck to it and reached your goal. That attitude will take you VERY far in life, my friend. So many people say it's too expensive, I could never afford it, blah, blah, blah, excuse, excuse, excuse. Baloney! If you want something, make a plan and execute and it will be yours. You just proved it. You are a college student with a Sebenza. I salute you!

Welcome!

That Seb should be all the more special to you. Congratulations and enjoy:thumbup:

Pics when you get it worked out!

Getting rid of things to get what you want is always a good way to do it.
Especially when you're broke, that's normally the only way(I'm 20 and poor too).
I can't tell you how many knives have been on the block. I've traded, sold, traded into the local shop, you name it to get knives I want.
Congratulations on your first! I just got my first a week ago(last Tuesday) and I fell in love with it. I've been into knives for well over a year and finally got my first Sebenza. Now I want a Small Sebenza Insingo(trying to figure out if I want to sell an arm and a leg or a kidney).

About once a year, I gather up old knives, old cell phones, baby stuff, unused car parts, etc and hit craigslist, local forums and such to clean house. That's how I bought mine also (this one anyway). I also pickup little odd jobs (about to start making microtech glass breaker plug screws) to make a little extra play cash for knives, etc. not that I can't afford it, it's just a way for me to keep spending on this hobby in check. The wife says I spend enough on my two mustangs hahahaha!

Yeah, I understand. I'm trying to keep my collection very minimal now. 3 knives and my girl shouldnt complain, even if they are a Sebenza, Hinderer, and Strider. :D

I have decided to start selling some toys to fund the purchase of new toys, instead of paying for them with real cash. So far I have sold a carbon fiber Military, titanium/carbon fiber Military, brown Military (all spares) and am working on selling a Busse Bushwhacker Mistress. This has resulted so far in a new Umnumzaan. Its not a bad way to ride, if you have stuff laying around that you can turn into cash.
