Newbie to site I'll see sometimes pm sent only,Is that postal money order?Deal done! I'll take it?means deal done also?I've seen knifes interested in but don"t want to step on anyones foot.thanks

pm sent means a private mesage has been sent to the seller that could be a questin about the knife or a I will take it so dont worry about steping on toes.

The first person to tell the seller "I'll take it!" unambiguously will probably get it. A seller can sell to anyone he pleases but in the interests of fairness and tradition, generally goes by the first clear acceptance of his terms.

PMs are Private Messages, kind of like Bladeforums internal email. Only paid members get to use PMs. So if you want to buy a knife, post in the thread "I'll take it" and click on the seller's user name to get a menu to select "View profile". The profile will link you to a form to email him with your acceptance, your name, address, how you will pay him, etc.

You can use the bold information above to email him with questions also. Just remember, asking a question is not dibs on the knife. :)

As always, post here in Tech Support with any questions on policy, or email moderators (me :) ) if you like. Tech Support is best because others can also learn from your question but sometimes people don't want a public debate on a problem.

Some common acronyms used (glossary of terms redux):

USPS MO - United States Postal Service Money Order. This method of payment is slower but seems to be higly popular among those that do not want to use Paypal.
PP - Paypal. Transfering money from either your personal bank account or the Paypal online account to the sellers online account. This usually entails a 3% fee which is taken from the total amount sent. $100 sent - 3% for Paypal -$.30 gives you the final amount.
VM - Visitor Message. Unlike Private Mesages, Visitor Messages are public and available to everyone Registered Users (as far as I know).
CONUS - Continental Uniter States. Seller is only willing to ship through the lower 48 states or CONUS.
NIB - New In Box or New in Bag. Term used to desribe the condition of the item for sale.
BNIB - Brand New In Box or Brand New In Bag. Item is as it was when it left the factory.
MIB - Mint in Box. Can be taken to mean the item has not been handled and is as it was out of the factory. These terms vary from person to person.
LNIB - Like New in Box. Can be taken to mean that the item for sale is not as it was when it left the factory, but it is close.
USPS - Item will be shipped via the US Postal Service.
DC - Delivery Confirmation
