Hello all, new member here and I 'm trying to understand how to purchase a blade from this site.

I am trying to ween myself from credit card use as it only gets me deeper into debt, but those are the only options I see when I go to the online store "checkout" for the item to be purchased.

But, I noticed on the DOTD your supposed to email Yangdu and you get the option of using Paypal or Visa.

I prefer paypal, so my question is why not have that option when purchasing from the online store? Is there a substantial fee associated with it if you have it as an option along with the credit cards?

This seems like a nice website with good people and a helpful forum, I would of already bought a Khuk or 2 if paypal was offered on the online store, I'm just trying to understand why it's not? Either way I'll be trying to shark a blade here pretty soon....thanks

Some people accept US postal money orders. You can go to pay pal web site and setup an account. Pay pal is like a middleman so the party you are dealing with does not have access to your personal account and viceaversa. Paypal charges a fee close to 3.5% OR IF you keep money in your pp account there is no fee. PP also can act a a 3rd party to resolve a dispute. I had someone not ship an item to me and pp got my money back. I am a user of pp and there are a lot of people who hate pp for their own reasons. Check it out for yourself.

Thanks High Desert, I've been using Paypal for years now, I was not aware of the 3.5% fee charge but I'm verified with my checking account and always have money in my account so no worries. I was just wondering why it's not an option as it is on so many other retail sites and if I can use it on the online Himalayan imports store, do I need to email Yangdu every time I want to make a purchase with paypal ?

Hello and Welcome Iceveign !
Yangdu accepts payment by paypal at the online store as well as here.
Just note that you want to pay by paypal on the order form or email her. She is very easy to do business with.

CMIIAW but IMHO using PayPal is actually the same with using credit card!
The only difference is that by using PayPal means you're not directly dealing with the seller using your credit card.
The one directly dealing with your credit card is the PayPal.
PayPal debited your credit card and credited the same amount to the PayPal account of the seller.
This way only PayPal knows your credit card no.
That's the advantage of using PayPal.
Still using PayPal doesn't minimize the usage of your credit card at all.
IMHO if you're actually trying to minimize the usage of your credit card then you have to make payment using MO!

No, you can link a bank account or debit card to paypal as well, and not use a credit card.

BTW Ice, Yangdu doesn't list her full inventory on the web site or here, so if there's something you're looking for, it's best to email her and ask if she has one in stock. Quite a few times people have lamented missing a DOTD item, and I got one by asking if she had anymore like it in stock. You may not get the DOTD price, but she may well have the item in stock.

Thanks CPL Punishment, I'll remember that and ask Yangdu about it. As far as paypal goes if you are verified and have it linked to your bank account like I do it is the same as cash, no credit invovled so it is completely different than a credit card. Also what I like to do is sell things on ebay and as my balance goes up in my paypal account I turn around a purchase something online, like say a knife or something. I haven't had to use a credit card in 4 months, and that is saying something for me and my bad spending habits. :(
