All are great, but the BAS is winning the fit test for my hand. The ASTK is really like wielding an ax with a handle that is a bit too large for me and the Chainpuri is a bit small for comfort.

Check out the metal inlay work:

Wow! I was wondering where they added weight to that 18" ASTK but it seems to have a fuller, wider-bellied blade -- like it has a touch of M43 in it. Awesome!

nice astk, i can`t wait to get mine:)
its also made by vim, with the same specs as yours
enjoy your new knives:)

Yes! There is a method to my madness!:D

My first three, which I got last month:

20" AK (40 oz)
16" BC (33 oz)
12" GRS/BC (16 oz)

The grip on Papa Khukuri fits my extra-large hands "just right". It felt heavy at first, but by the time I had a put a hair-shaving-sharp convex edge on it, my arm muscles seem to have adapted well.

Steve, I totally agree on the 20" AK mine is a down right awesome chopper it only got better after my recent edge tune up. I'm still lacking a mid range I have a Bilton, 12" CAK, 18" M43 and 20" AK but no mid range:(

For a mid range, IMO it's hard to beat a 14" BDC. They punch way above their weight. It's a cryin' shame they aren't regular offers on the DOTD.

I guess I'm not with this sort picture at all. In fact, most of my small ones are already gone with the rest of them headed to WartMart on the near future. By the time the store closes this season, a Tamang will be the smallest or if those don't count as khukuri, then 15" Sirus, Gelbus and Kobrae will be it with the smallest "chopper" being my 18" ASTK-V. I just use one of the other blades from HI when the smaller stuff needs a chop. ;)
